Love From A to Z by S. K. Ali (Salaam Reads, 2019)
S. K. Ali is the author of Saints and Misfits (Salaam Reads, 2017), winner of the 2018 APALA Honor award, the 2017 Middle East Book Honor Award, and a 2018 William C. Morris Award finalist. Her second novel, Love From A To Z, a story about finding love in the time of Islamophobia, was an Entertainment Weekly Top Ten Young Adult Book of 2019. Her picture book, co-authored with Team USA Olympic Medalist, Ibtihaj Muhammad, The Proudest Blue (Little, Brown Books, 2019) debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. Once Upon An Eid (Amulet, 2020), an anthology of stories by 15 Muslim writers, co-edited by S. K. Ali and Aisha Saeed released this month.
Nadia L. Hohn, B.A. (Hon.), B.Ed., M.Ed. is an award-winning author of 7 books for young people— Malaika’s Costume (2016), Malaika’s Winter Carnival (2017), Harriet Tubman Freedom Fighter (2018), Sankofa Music (2015), Sankofa Media (2015), A Likkle Miss Lou: How Jamaican Poet Louise Bennett Coverley Found Her Voice (2019), and Malaika’s Surprise (2021). Nadia was born in Canada to parents who immigrated from St Ann parish, Jamaica. She is completing her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at University of Guelph-Humber. She currently teaches in Toronto schools and the University of Toronto School for Continuing Studies and presents to audiences across Canada, the US, and the world.
